Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Contact details you give us: your name, email address, phone number and any message you send through our contact form or by email.
• Account details: your name, email address and sign-in method (email link, or Google if you choose it) when you create or use an account.
• Plan and client information: details about your solar system, entity, income and tax situation that you or your tax professional enter in the client portal or a questionnaire so we can prepare a tax plan.
• Payment information: if you pay through the Site, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited details (such as card brand and last four digits), not your full card number.
• Usage and device information: pages viewed, referring page, approximate location, browser type and IP address, collected automatically through standard server logs and privacy-focused analytics.
• Estimator and calculator inputs: figures you type into the savings estimator and solar tax calculator are processed in your browser to show results. We do not receive them unless you submit them to us.

• To respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations.
• To provide, prepare and deliver tax planning services and related documents you request.
• To create and secure your account, authenticate you and send service messages such as sign-in links and plan updates.
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
• To meet legal, regulatory, professional and recordkeeping obligations.
• To send you information about our services, only where permitted. You can opt out at any time (see Your choices).

Information we receive in connection with preparing a tax return is tax return information. Federal law (Internal Revenue Code section 7216 and Treasury Regulation section 301.7216) restricts how tax return preparers may use and disclose it. We use it to prepare your return or plan and for other purposes the law permits, and we do not disclose it to or allow others to use it for unrelated purposes without your signed consent.

Where a consent is required, we will ask for it separately in writing. We do not rely on this Privacy Policy as that consent. Our professionals are also bound by their professional duties of confidentiality.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers that process data for us under confidentiality and security obligations, including cloud hosting and deployment (Vercel), database and storage (Supabase), email delivery (Amazon Web Services SES and Resend), payments (Stripe), authentication (Google, if you choose to sign in with Google) and site analytics (Vercel Analytics).
• Professional advisers such as our attorneys, accountants and insurers, where needed.
• Government or other parties when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, safety and property.
• A successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
• Anyone else, with your direction or consent.

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed to keep you signed in and secure the Site, and to remember preferences such as theme. We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use the Site to serve third-party advertising.

Your browser may send a Do Not Track signal. Because there is no common standard for responding to it, we do not currently alter our practices in response. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and meet legal and professional recordkeeping requirements, including those that apply to tax and legal records. We then delete or de-identify it.

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive tax documents through the contact form or ordinary email; use the secure client portal or ask us how to send them safely.

You can ask us to review, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to tell you what categories of information we collect, or to opt out of marketing email. Nevada residents may also submit a verified request directing us not to sell certain covered information. We do not sell covered information, but you may still send a request. California and other state residents may have additional rights under their laws; contact us to exercise them. We may need to verify your identity first and may retain information we are legally required to keep.

The Site is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Site links to other websites, such as our parent firm and social media pages. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where the change is material we will take additional steps as the law requires. Please review it periodically.
